We always do our best to make sure that everything is available, up-to-date and with a clear description, so that you know what you’re buying. We strive to make sure that packages are sealed up properly and handled with care, so that you receive them in perfect condition. But we cannot guarantee all of these 100% of the time. For us, happy customers are loyal customers and despite our best efforts, returns may be necessary.

Here’s how it works, in case you need to return an item to us.

First thing to do is use the Contact Form to send us the details of the car part, car accessory or tool that you need to return. There are a few legal terms associated with returning, so have a read of these in our Terms & Conditions before you fill out the form.

 

Cancelling an order

We aim to send all your orders to you within 48 hours, so you can change your order up until it is dispatched. Fill in the form and select ‘cancel order’. We’ll send a ‘returns authorization number’ to you.

 

Wrong item/Incorrect item received

If you have ordered the wrong item by mistake or we have sent you the wrong one, then you have 30 days to send it back to us. Fill out the form and select ‘wrong/incorrect item’. We’ll send a ‘returns authorization number’ to you.

 

Damaged item

If somehow your item is damaged, then you need to contact us straight away (yes, the form again), and we’ll arrange for the item to be returned to our premises.

Important: Please inspect and refuse your parcel. Specify the damage on the delivery docket, as claims cannot be entertained once an order has been signed for. 

Online - Select ‘damaged item’ in the form. We’ll send a ‘returns authorization number’ to you.

 

Unwanted item

If you have received your item, but then decided that you don’t want it anymore, you’ll need to return it to us within 7 days. Fill out the form and select ‘unwanted item’. We’ll send a ‘returns authorization number’ to you.

 

Other

Any other reasons for returning, please fill out the form and select ‘other’ and provide some details on the reason you’re returning it to us. We’ll send a ‘returns authorization number’ to you.

Please note that ‘special order’ items cannot be returned or refunded. These are items we have especially ordered for you. You will be notified at time of purchase.

The cost of all postage and packaging is payable by you unless stated or agreed with us.

P&P not refundable if the item is returned to us opened. Please ensure the item is unopened and in a resalable condition.

When returning an item, use the original packaging and make sure the outer packaging is securely sealed. Once received, we will provide a refund or exchange.

 

Handling Charges

Please be advised that Handling Charges apply on all returned items (unless stated otherwise by motorparts.ie). 

Needless to say, there are a number of associated costs with every transaction through Motorparts.ie. 

 

Therefore, costs, including outward postage and packaging, will be deducted from refund amounts.

 

Non-returnable Items

“Special Order” means any goods that are not held in stock by us (a non-stock item) and are therefore ordered and/or manufactured specifically as per your request.


Please note the following items will not be accepted for return:


* Damaged packaging and opened blister packs.

 

* Special Orders.

 

* Correctly supplied vehicle electronic components (Sensors, EGR Valves, Mass Airflow Meters, Ignition Coils, Fuel Pumps etc).

 

* Timing Belts.

It is imperative that the Goods we supply are new and unused. Electronic components when misdiagnosed can easily be damaged and therefore we cannot accept their return. Similarly, open Timing Belts cannot be verified as unused, therefore we cannot accept them back once the package is opened.

 

Returns Post Label

When looking to return an item you can avail of a RETURNS POST LABEL (€10). These labels are a cost effective solution when returning larger items.

These Registered Post Labels also provide an additional level of security as they insure the contents and ensure that your parcel gets priority handling.

 

Once you have received your post label, wrap up the item that is being returned safely, and place the Returns Post Label on the packaging, Drop the item into any An Post and they'll do the rest. Easy!
